As a child raised in Baltimore, Maryland, I built cities and created worlds and stories with my toys. Of course, so many children do this, but my passion for making was much bigger than a typical 5-year-old. I used to fill my room with layouts of playmobile, lego, calico critters, and polly pocket sets that would coat the ground of my room so you could hardly step anywhere. My parents didn’t have the heart to tell me to clean up my creations so they would remain, and I would keep adding to them. Eventually, art stores became my new toy store, and I found joy in creating stories through making art. And soon, I realized that my world-building passion could be a career. I am a first-year student at the Savannah College of Art and Design studying illustration, focusing on concept art for games and animation.
